Viper Club which was previously titled as Vulture Club, follows the story of a veteran emergency room nurse, Helen who secretly struggles to free her grown son, a war journalist named Andy who covers dangerous international events, from capture by a terrorist group. After running roadblocks with government agencies, she discovers a clandestine community of journalists and advocates who might be able to help her.

“Susan Sarandon’s emotional, tour de force performance anchors Viper Club. She brings incredible humanity to a woman who, after being slow-walked by the government, takes matters into her own hands in a clandestine effort to free her captive son. It’s a compelling, timely story brilliantly captured and told by Maryam, and we are excited to be partnering with YouTube to bring the film to theaters this fall,” Roadside’s Howard Cohen and Eric d’Arbeloff stated in YouTube’s press release.

The film stars Sarandon (Dead Man Walking, Thelma & Louise) as Helen, Julian Morris as Andy, Edie Falco (The Sopranos, Nurse Jackie) as Charlotte,  Matt Bomer (Normal Heart, White Collar) as Sam, Lola Kirke (Mozart in the Jungle)  as Amy, Adepero Oduye (12 Years a Slave) as Keesha and Sheila Van (Whiskey Tango Foxtrot) as Sheila.

Viper Club was directed by Maryam Keshavarz (Circumstance) and was co-written with Jonathan Mastro. The film is produced by Anna Gerb, Neal Dodson, and Academy Award-nominee J.C. Chandor, the filmmaking team behind Margin Call, All is Lost and A Most Violent Year which were all released by Roadside.

Viper Club will debut at the Toronto International Film Festival and it will hit the theaters on October 26. The film will be available for streaming on 2019 at YouTube Premium.
