The Night Stalker is The Silence of the Lambs if you stripped away the Buffalo Bill investigation, the intrigue and its budget, a mildly engaging but ultimately forgettable drama-thriller that features a pretty good performance by Lou Diamond Phillips–as the incarcerated title character–and not much else. The movie has its moments, but the revelations are underwhelming and the motivations of the main character (Bellamy Young) are not as impactful as writer/director Megan Griffiths intended.
