Marvel’s Hawkeye Series Finds Writer in Jonathan Igla

The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Marvel’s Hawkeye series on the Disney+ platform has found its writer. Mad Men‘s Jonathan Igla is set to pen the series as writer and executive producer.

This marks the final creative addition to the previously announced line-up of Phase 4 shows coming to the streaming service, with recent announcements like She-Hulk and Moon Knight still in development. The Ms. Marvel series will reportedly be written by British writer Bisha K. Ali (Hulu’s Four Weddings and Funeral).

The Hawkeye series will see Jeremy Renner reprising his role as Clint Barton –with the story also set to introduce his protege Kate Bishop, a yet-to-be-cast role. The series will premiere in Fall 2021 on Disney+.

Disney is developing multiple limited series featuring characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with The Falcon and the Winter SoldierLoki and WandaVision being two of the shows in development. Mackie, Stan, Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen will reprise their roles for their respective series.

Disney‘s upcoming streaming service will become the exclusive home in the U.S. for subscription-video-on-demand viewing of the newest live action and animated series and movies from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and Fox. Set to launch on November 12, the service will be ad-free, supported solely by subscription fees, and will be available on gaming consoles, smart TV’s, and connected streaming devices.
