FOX’s The Exorcist Season 2 casts Star Trek actor John Cho

Star Trek‘s John Cho has just joined the cast of The Exorcist Season 2, according to TVLine. The cast is changing for the sophomore season of the FOX drama based on the 1973 horror film of the same name. Cast members Alfonso Herrera (The ChosenSense8), Kurt Egyiawan (SkyfallBeats of No Nation) and Ben Daniels (Flesh and BoneHouse of Cards) are the only regulars to return to the show and The Exorcist Season 2 will have a new exorcism case, according to the site.

Father Ortega (Herrera) and Marcus Keane (Daniels) have left Chicago and are looking for cases. They find a former child psychologist named Andrew Kim (Cho) who runs a group home for at-risk foster children on an island off the coast of Seattle. One of those children becomes possessed, of course, “putting the priests on a collision course with Hell.”

The Exorcist premiered in September of 2016 and also starred Geena Davis (Thelma & LouiseBeetlejuice), Hannah Kasulka (The Fosters), Alan Ruck (Spin CityFerris Bueller’s Day Off) and Brianne Howey (Scream Queens).

Cho is known for his work in the recent Star Trek films where he played Hikaru Sulu and the Harold & Kumar films where he played Harold Lee. He had a lead role in the short-lived series Selfie with Karen Gillan and has played the recurring character Andy Brooks in Sleepy Hollow. He also appeared in the series FlashForward and Off Centre, as well as the films Better Luck TomorrowShopping for Fangs and Yellow.
