Beginning to hit theaters today, Focus FeaturesNocturnal Animals marks the second feature film from writer and director Tom Ford who, in 2009, released his debut feature, A Single Man. The previous film earned leading man Colin Firth an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. The Nocturnal Animals could very well garner similar awards attention with its ensemble include five-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams (American Hustle, The Master), fellow nominees Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain, Nightcrawler) and Michael Shannon (Man of Steel, Take Shelter) as well as Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Godzilla, Avengers: Age of Ultron) and Isla Fisher (The Great Gatsby, Now You See Me).

CS sat down with Gyllenhaal, Shannon and Taylor-Johnson who all have one thing in common in the film: They’re part of a narrative within a narrative (Gyllenhaal also plays the inner fiction’s author) in Ford’s delicately layered thriller that serves as a multi-faceted meditation on loss, grief and revenge.
