AHS: Cult ratings make it 2nd most-watched basic cable show of 2017

Following the premiere of the series last week, FX has released the American Horror Story: Cult ratings and the groundbreaking and award-winning anthology series, from co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, drew 4.56 million Adults 18-49 and 6.91 million Total Viewers for its premiere telecast (Tuesday, September 5, 10 PM-11:07 PM) on a Live+3 basis. Including two encore telecasts and all non-linear data currently available, AHS: Cult premiered to 9.01 million Total Viewers.

The premiere of AHS: Cult is the second most-watched basic cable entertainment program of 2017 year-to-date in both Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers – behind only The Walking Dead (AMC).

American Horror Story: Cult returns to FX tonight, Tuesday, September 12, at 10 PM ET/PT with Episode 2 – “Don’t Be Afraid of The Dark.” The episode was written by Tim Minear and directed by Liza Johnson.

Additional cast members include Emma Roberts, Adina Porter, Billy Eichner, and Colton Haynes. Ryan Murphy previously revealed that Twisty the Clown from American Horror Story: Freak Show will return, and that Lena Dunham will have a role in one episode of the season.

The sixth installment, American Horror Story: Roanoke, recently received four Emmy Award nominations in the hairstyling, makeup and sound editing categories. The American Horror Story franchise has received 28 Emmy nominations and four wins over its previous six seasons. It is produced by Twentieth Century Fox Television.
