A behind-the-scenes look at The Mummy filming

From ancient Egypt and the deserts of Namibia, to France and modern-day London, The Mummy filming was a global adventure. Check out a behind-the-scenes look below!

Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy. Thought safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient queen (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her, is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension. From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

The Mummy cast also includes Annabelle Wallis (upcoming King Arthur, television’s Peaky Blinders), Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Courtney B. Vance (TV’s American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson) and Oscar winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator).

The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman, who also produces alongside Chris Morgan (Fast & Furious series, Wanted) and Sean Daniel (The Mummy trilogy, The Best Man series). Jon Spaihts and Christopher McQuarrie wrote the screenplay, and Bobby Cohen is executive producer. It’s being planned as the first film in the Universal Monster cinematic universe with plans for The Wolfman, The Invisible ManBride of Frankenstein, and Van Helsing all in various stages of development.

The Mummy is set to open on June 9, 2017.
