Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Season 1 Episode 3 Recap

In the previous episode of Amazon’s Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, an apartment exploded behind Jack as he failed to take down Ali. This episode began with the aftermath of the explosion.

“In France, There Are No Hyphenates”

Jack, Greer, and the French DGSI team investigated the apartment after the explosion. They found the SIM cards, confirming the use of TracEuro for money transfers. They also discovered that the only visitor Suleiman had in prison was his brother Ali, and he had lived in “the 93”, a Muslim neighborhood in Paris.

In the car with Cpt. Arnaud, Jack wondered why Suleiman turned to extremism. He had gotten a degree in business and was top of his class; he could have “gotten out”. Arnaud pointed out that it was different from the U.S. In France, a person was either French or not, and had fewer opportunities if they were Muslim.

Victor Polizzi worked as a drone pilot in Nevada. He killed a target in Syria, and another drone pilot gave him a dollar bill. He collected these dollars, numbered them, and hung them on his wall. Victor decided to take his dollars to a casino and play roulette. He seemed lucky and quickly turned them into $30,000.

While gambling, he met a couple, Blanche and Stanley, who went home with him after he cashed out his chips. Stanley watched as Victor and Blanche had sex, and when she went to the bathroom, Stanley beat Victor. Victor offered Stanley the money as they left, but he declined. He had earned it.

End of Honor

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Season 1 Episode 3 Recap

Ali was staying with Omer, a doctor who was able to patch him up. He knew Suleiman and Ali when they were children. Ali put on the game End of Honor and used its chat feature to communicate with Suleiman. Suleiman told him to leave no witnesses meeting at a rendezvous point.

Greer went to the mosque to show Ali’s picture. One of the kids at Omer’s apartment told Greer where Ali was. The police burst through the door where Omer and his children were still alive. Jack discovered the conversation in the video game. DGSI were then able to get a lock on Ali in his car. They wanted to intercept him, but Jack and Greer convinced them that Ali might lead them to Suleiman.

Hanin’s uncle Fathi procured some passports for Hanin and her children. However, Suleiman discovered and burned them. Hanin was still determined to leave him, escaping in a car left for her. Her son Samir did not want to go and warned Suleiman that Hanin and her two daughters were fleeing.

The car they used to escape broke down, and the women were forced to go on foot. They came to a town with a marketplace. Victor was surveying the marketplace with a drone at the same time. Suleiman sent Fathi and Yazid, the man who scared Sara, to search for them. While capturing the women, Yazid killed Fathi and tried to rape Hanin. Against orders, Victor killed Yazid once he had a clear shot. In the end, the higher ups had given authorization to interfere.
