The Hunchback of Notre Dame is being written by Michael Mitnick (The Current War, The Giver), adapting Victor Hugo’s classic French Romantic/gothic novel of that was published in 1831. The original story takes place in 1482 and follows Quasimodo, a hunchback who falls in love with the gypsy Esmeralda.
