Three Identical Strangers Movie Review

SIFF CAPSULE REVIEW: Three young men, raised in different households by different parents, discover they are identical triplets in the documentary Three Identical Strangers. Split at birth, they have remarkable similarities even setting aside their appearances. But why were they split at birth? The truth is disturbing.

Within seconds, filmmaker Tim Wardle’s documentary takes hold of you and never lets go, beginning with the highly entertaining, fast-paced story about how the three ended up meeting and becoming best friends. Even more satisfyingly, the movie soon takes a dark turn, revealing a conspiracy of sorts that pulls the curtain back–sort of–on a grand psychological experiment intended to explore the nature-vs.-nurture dynamic.

This movie was screened at the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF 2018).
