ABC has given a straight-to-series order for a comedy created by Alec Baldwin, Kenya Barris and Julie Bean

A straight-to-series order has been given to a comedy from Alec Baldwin, Julie Bean and Kenya Barris by ABC, according to Variety. The multi-camera comedy will be executive produced by the three. Julie Bean and Kenya Barris will also serve as showrunners and writers for the series. ABC Studios will produce.

The series is set around a fading television star who moves in with his daughter, her girlfriend and their child. Alec Baldwin reportedly may star in the series.

Alec Baldwin is known for playing Jack Donaghy on the NBC comedy 30 Rock, for which he won two Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. He’s also won an Emmy for playing Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live. He’s currently hosting The Match Game. He’s been seen in films like The DepartedIt’s Complicated and voiced the lead role in The Boss Baby.

Kenya Barris is the creator and executive producer of black-ish, the ABC comedy which was just nominated for two Golden Globes, including Best Television Series — Comedy and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series — Musical or Comedy for star Anthony Anderson. Barris is also an executive producer on the series spinoff grown-ish. He also executive produced The Game. He’s the author of the book This Is Basic Sh*t: Uncensored Thoughts from a Black Dude about Stuff We Know and Are Shocked You Don’t.

Julie Bean was a writer and executive producer on the ABC comedy American Housewife, and the CBS series Mike & Molly (co-executive producer). She produced NewsRadioGary Unmarried and the TV movie Criminal Mastermind. She wrote two episodes of Sons & Daughters and four episodes of The Game.
