NBC has canceled The Night Shift after four seasons

The Night Shift has been canceled by NBC after four seasons, according to Variety. The medical drama focused on doctors, nurses and medical staff at the San Antonio Memorial Hospital. The cast of the show included Eoin Macken (Resident Evil: The Final ChapterThe Forest) who played Dr. TC Callahan, Jill Flint (The Amazing Spider-ManRoyal Pains) who played Dr. Jordan Alexander, Brendan Fehr (Guardians of the GalaxyX-Men: First Class) who played Dr. Drew Alister, Robert Bailey Jr. (Notes From DadCriminal Minds) who played Dr. Paul Cummings, JR Lemon (Madden NFL 18: LongshotA Madea Christmas who played Kenny Fournette, Tanaya Beatty (The Twilight Saga: Breaking DawnWords and Pictures) who played Dr. Shannon Rivera and Scott Wolf (Party of FiveLady and the Tramp 2: Scamp’s Adventure) who played Dr. Scott Clemmens.

“We want to thank our amazing creators and executive producers, Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah, for their dedication and stellar work; a cast and crew that were second to none; and the city of Albuquerque, N.M., which graciously opened its arms to us,” NBC entertainment president Jennifer Salke said in a statement. “For four seasons, The Night Shift gave audiences a window to heroic doctors, nurses and all-star medical workers who never hesitated to give their blood, sweat and time to help those most in need.”

The Night Shift premiered on May 27, 2014, on NBC. The show was renewed by the network on November 17, 2016 and averaged 3.85 million total viewers and a 0.7 demo rating. The finale of The Night Shift season 4 aired on August 31.
