Chris Pratt calls Guardians Vol. 2 “Biggest spectacle movie of all time”

Though we’re still a few months away from the release of the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, star Chris Pratt is ready to start the hype machine for the film. Speaking with The Toronto Sun, Pratt had a big claim, saying:

”It’s a fabulous script. I think it’s going to be — I’m not using hyperbole, here – I think it’s going to be the biggest spectacle movie of all time.”

He went on to address the criticism of how many superhero movies are being made, which he said doesn’t bother him.

“To be part of Guardians of the Galaxy, is to be part of a franchise that really is so totally different. It’s new and exciting and unlike anything people had seen before. There are a lot of superheroes out there, but I think we do something a little different. The genesis of these characters was in the Marvel Universe but we do something a little different, more cosmic, with Guardians of the Galaxy.”

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 cast also includes the return of Zoe Saldana (Avatar, Star Trek) as Gamora; Dave Bautista (SPECTRE, The Man with the Iron Fists) as Drax; Vin Diesel (xXx, Furious 7) as the voice of Groot; Bradley Cooper (Joy, American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (Slither, Jumper) as Yondu; Karen Gillan (Doctor Who, The Big Short) as Nebula; and Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, “Gilmore Girls”) as Kraglin. New cast members include Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), who plays Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (“The Knick,” The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, Furious 7) as Ego.

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is produced by Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Nik Korda and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. Look for it to hit the big screen May 5, 2017.
