Can two serial cheaters get a second chance at love? After a one-night stand in college, New Yorkers Lainey (Alison Brie) and Jake (Jason Sudeikis) meet by chance twelve years later and discover they each have the same problem. Because of their monogamy-challenged ways, neither can maintain a relationship. Determined to stay friends despite their mutual attraction, they make a pact to keep it platonic, a deal that proves easier said than done.

Fresh, funny, and full of witty insights about modern love, Sleeping with Other People is a hilariously heartfelt film that the type of romantic comedy that reminds us why we love the genre so much in the first place. Downey recently caught up with Leslye Headland to talk with her about the making of the movie, which is in select theaters now, and available on VOD.

Ryan J. Downey didn’t just get to speak with the director, he also got to throw down with the main cast as well. His fist interview saw Alison Brie and Jason Sudeikis paired for a rousing discussion about how this film gets to skip over all the Rom-Com ‘bullsh*t’, instead offering up two very real people who also happen to be really funny. The pair have a fun time running through all the tropes that they gladly got to avoid. In turn, they both believe that made Sleeping with Other People a little darker.

The second interview has Ryan J. Downey speaking with Amanda Peet and Adam Scott as a pair. They first start off discussing how grossly under served the Rom-Com has been as of late, and suddenly goes off on a tangent about musical group Staind. And then the trio begin talking about hairlines. They soon segue into how the pair got into involved in the movie, and how Adam Scott managed to suppress his charm for his role. They end the discussion by chatting about the upcoming horror comedy Krampus, which stars Adam Scott.
