If “Seinfeld” were set in a warehouse and the key comedic talents weren’t involved, you’d probably get Warehoused (Almacenados), the somewhat entertaining Mexican satire that isn’t as funny as it is intentionally awkward, about a veteran employee and the rookie who quickly realizes that his new job–the one that his colleague has taken so seriously for 39 years–entails doing absolutely nothing of importance.
Hoze Meléndez and José Carlos Ruiz have great chemistry together as they bond, argue and more in an empty warehouse waiting for a delivery that may never materialize. The movie lacks bite and its themes don’t resonate as much as director Jack Zagha likely intended, but the otherwise solid screenplay and actors make Warehoused a worthwhile, if somewhat slight, watch nonetheless.
