The series, co-created by Sedaris (BoJack Horseman) and Paul Dinello (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), follows the 57-year-old actress as she hosts a seemingly traditional homemaking show that turns into a sketch series as she portrays various characters exploring topics ranging from entertaining grieving people to game nights to caring for the ill and makeovers. Its 10-episode first season, which debuted in October 2017, featured a slew of big-name guests including Paul Giamatti (Billions), Nick Kroll (Big Mouth), Christopher Meloni (Happy!), Neil Patrick Harris (A Series of Unfortunate Events) and Justin Theroux (The Leftovers) amongst others.

The series brought in relatively strong ratings for TruTV upon debut and received acclaim from critics and audiences alike and was nominated for Outstanding Variety Sketch Program at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards, losing to the long-running NBC sketch series Saturday Night Live and earning a 10-episode second season that is set to debut on February 19.
