The character is described as, “part scientist, part entrepreneur, part daredevil.” Lili/Landon’s parents have gone missing and the character discovers that they’ve been part of a secret government project dealing with a talking car named Herbie. Criminals are on the trail of this secret project as well.

The first film starred Dean Jones (Clear and Present Danger), Michele Lee (Along Came Polly), David Tomlinson (Mary Poppins) and Buddy Hackett (The Little Mermaid). The 2005, in addition to Lindsey Lohan, starred Justin Long (Drag Me to Hell), Breckin Meyer (Road Trip), Matt Dillion (There’s Something About Mary) and Michael Keaton (Spider-Man: Homecoming).
